Fifty years ago to the day, Joe Cocker: Mad Dogs & Englishmen descended on the Filmore West and delivered one of the most legendary performances in rock ‘n’ roll history. On April 26th, we step back in time and tell the story of a tour that materialized in just six days, changing the lives of 43 musicians and crew members who boarded a shuddering Lockheed Super Constellation airplane and took the country by storm.
Narrated through the lens of rock ‘n’ roll photographer, Linda Wolf, this virtual event features never-before-seen photographs, footage, music, and live interviews (from home) with members of the original JCMDE tour as well as the 2015 Lockn’ tribute with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Special guests include Jim Keltner, Claudia Lennear, Rita Coolidge, Pamela Polland, Dave Mason, Warren Haynes, Doyle Bramhall II, Peter Nicholls, Tim Lefebvre, Matthew Moore, Bobby Jones, Shannon McNally, Kebbi Williams, Ephraim Owens, Mike Mattison and Mitch Chakour. The session will also feature a taped interview with Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks.
Tune in on April 26, 2020, at 1PM PDT / 4PM EDT to be part of this 50th-anniversary Cocker Power Spectacular, streaming live on Facebook, YouTube, and at www.cockerpowerbook.com. The program will include an interactive Q&A, so bring your burning questions.
